Cold Pressed oil Vs expeller oil Vs Refined oil – which is healthy and why ?

Refined oil is actually processed oil frequently produced by “solvent extraction method”. Solvent extraction is achieved through the grinding of seed. The ground seed or cake is then purged or washed with a petroleum distillate (the most common chemical used is hexane) which releases the oil in the seed. The solvent is then “flashed off” by heating the oil in a sealed chamber. The oil/solvent blend is next heated to 212º F (100º C) to distill off the solvent. Then the first step is degumming ( to remove colloidal impurities) by adding Phosphoric acid and water and then it goes through Neutralisation ( to remove excess acid), Bleaching ( to remove petroleum pigments) , deodorization ( to remove smell of petroleum product) to arrive at Processed oil which is marketed as Refined oil !! Processed oil or refined oil method allows manufacturers to produce large quantities at low cost – but with all the chemicals used /heating – benefit to consumers ( YOU !) is not clear ? if you think buying refined oil at low prices is a great choice you made – please rethink what is more important – health or low cost buying

Expeller Pressed Oils : as name sounds uses a pressure method to extract the oil, but during the process, it can heat up to above 140°F, so it is technically not “cold processed.” Expeller pressing removes about 87-95% of the oils from the nuts/seeds, making it the second most efficient for manufacturers but the high friction heat possibly has a significant adverse impact on nutritional value. Expeller oil production has a very low cost of set up and hence preferred by small processors – many of the cold pressed oils in market are likely expeller pressed oil ( not cold pressed) but masquerading as cold pressed – buyers beware !!

Poshak cold pressed oils : we use wooden kohlus to extract the oil, we don’t use any heat or any chemicals in the process. seeds are cold pressed post receiving orders and with no chemicals and natural sleeves. Since Oils are pressed at room temperature, they retain their healthy antioxidants (fights cancer) and Vitamin E ( healing powers that would otherwise be destroyed when using high-heat methods) . We do a single press to ensure we retain maximum nutritional value in our oils. our aim Serve the consumer with honesty , loss of yield in oil processing but good quality product with nutrients intact – we have a firm view that consumers will recognise this and reward us with repeat orders and their trust !
